How It All Began

The Kamui Youth Tournament was officially born on Thursday, June 5th, 2025—the moment when an idea that Marc Meyer had carried for years finally took shape.

During the Ardennen Cup, Marc gathered several coaches and key figures from different countries to share his vision:
a groundbreaking international youth tournament for players up to 18 years old.

The enthusiasm in the room made one thing clear:
the world was ready for this event.

Shortly after, the organizing team was formed: Marc Meyer, Dirk Blasius, and Rienus Gennissen.

Together, they shaped the foundation of a tournament that would bring young talent from all over Europe together—ideally taking place every year during the Easter weekend.

The Organizing Team

The mission of the organizing team was ambitious but simple:
create an unforgettable event for young players, while keeping participation costs as low as possible.

Driven by passion for youth development in pool, Marc, Dirk, and Rienus began turning the idea into reality.

A Change in the Team

As of January 2026, Dirk has had to step back due to personal commitments.
Wherever possible, he will continue to support us—and we thank him sincerely for everything he has contributed.

The Website

A great event deserves a great online platform.

After Dirk created an initial concept, we welcomed a new sponsor:
BOEI 17 from Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Together with them, we are developing a modern website that will continue to grow in the coming years. Our ambition is to build a European platform for youth players, where they can find training tips, videos, event information, and much more.
